Troy, Mich. – TECH LOCK, a RevSpring company, is pleased to announce that Chief Security Officer Mike Wright will speak about critical IT and data security issues on June 6 at the National Council of Higher Education Resources (NCHER) Spring Conference in Clearwater, Fla.

Wright will review technical solutions and common-sense actions organizations should implement to protect sensitive privacy data.

The session, “Increasing Information and Data Security: How to Protect Your Systems and Personally-Identifiable Information,” will highlight potential threats and vulnerabilities faced each day by NCHER members.

Widely known as one of the ARM industry’s top security experts, Wright helps agencies improve their security posture while ensuring they remain compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

Wright leads TECH LOCK’s audit team and is responsible for helping reduce IT security risk for several dozen of the largest ARM agencies. He joined TECH LOCK in 2009 and has 15 years of receivables management-focused IT security experience.

Jonathan Edwards, senior director, Cyber Security at Blue Canopy Group, will join Wright during the session. Randy Heesacker, president and chief executive officer at the National Student Loan Program, will serve as the moderator.

The discussion comes at an important time given the growing number of security breaches and ongoing concerns about the impact on businesses.  With many companies keeping their customers’ personal information readily available, the need is rising for effective security measures to keep the data safe.

Over the last year or so, Congress has held numerous hearings on the push to secure information technology. The federal government has implemented a government-wide initiative to strengthen internal and external systems to protect personally identifiable information. Wright will review those efforts and help attendees understand how to react.
