The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) will be holding a public meeting of the Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) later this month at CFPB Headquarters in Washington, DC. The subject of the meeting will be about student loan servicing issues, debt collection, and related trends and themes.

CFPB Director Richard Cordray will speak at the meeting, along with other Bureau officials.

Representatives from the private sector will also be speaking, such as ClarkHill’s Joann Needleman, who will be presenting during the “Trends and Themes” section of the meeting. Needleman tells insideARM that “I have found that there is a great deal of common ground between industry and consumer advocates on the issue of email, text, and web-based portals” and that she hopes the meeting “will start the groundwork for a productive dialogue with the Bureau to lay out a regulatory framework for communication with consumers.”

You can RSVP to attend the hearing – the Bureau will also be providing a live stream of the hearing starting at 10:15 a.m. on the 27th
