Park Ridge, IL ? In late August, Van Ru Credit Corporation employees presented their 7th contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois to grant the wish of a Chicago-area teen. Working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for more than two years, employees of the collection agency continue to make donations in support of the Foundation?s wish-granting mission to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening conditions.

As a result of these employees? recent generosity, Quincy, a local teen, will realize his ultimate wish to go on a shopping spree in Las Vegas, Nevada. Quincy is a 14-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year, a cancer that develops in the lymphatic system, a part of the body’s immune system. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy twice a month. He loves all sports, and chose to visit Las Vegas because, while on his wish trip, he can also visit family members that he never gets to see. Thanks to Van Ru, Quincy’s wish will come true this month.

In addition to making monetary contributions by ?buying? casual days for $2 per day, Van Ru employees also showed their support by donating items for Quincy?s travels, including a backpack, CD Walkman, a radio, film, sunglasses, puzzle books, and an array of snacks for the plane ride.

?Since we started this program, our employees have donated over $30,000 to Make-A-Wish,? said Roger Rubin, president and chief executive officer of Van Ru. ?It has been a highly rewarding experience for all involved to see and hear how we?re making a difference for these kids. We look forward to hearing about their wishes, or receiving a letter or drawing from one of the children ? our employees are dedicated to bringing smiles to the faces of these children.?

In late summer, the company also kicked off a toy drive on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation to collect toys that will be used for children at hospital holiday parties.
