Consumer sentiment in the U.S. fell slightly in July, according to the University of Michigan which tracks the reading monthly.


Reuters is reporting that the consumer sentiment reading was 83.0, down from 84.9 in June. Analysts polled by Reuters said that they expected the reading to increase a little to around 85.5.


One analyst blamed rising oil prices and political uncertainty overseas on the drop.
