U.S. mortgage application volume fell last week to a six-month low as interest rates on home loans stayed close to their highest level this year, an industry trade group’s figures showed on Wednesday.


The Mortgage Bankers Association said its index of mortgage application volume for the week ended Oct. 21 declined 7.9 percent to 679.1, its lowest level since mid-April when the index stood at at 672.6.
