FMS Inc., a privately held national receivables management company, today announced their acceptance into the Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program. The state program provides financial incentives to employers that create “quality” jobs by locating or expanding in Oklahoma. Administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, the program provides quarterly cash payments of up to 5 percent of new taxable payroll directly to a qualifying company, for up to 10 years.

FMS expects to hire about 401 people during the next 18 months, said John Smith, company president. “Tulsa is an excellent marketplace for a quality work ethic.” FMS currently has a staff of 180 in Tulsa, having added more than 50 people in the past four months, and still has openings for another 50.

“The median income for collectors is $36,000, and top collectors make more than $50,000,” Smith said, adding, “FMS tries to promote all supervisors from within.”

The maximum amount of money FMS can receive if it participates in the Quality Jobs Program for the full 10 years is nearly $5.6 million, according to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

In addition to its Tulsa center, FMS operates a branch in Fullerton, California, that now employs 25 people. FMS also rents space in Dallas, Texas, for an in-house attorney and would like to open a call center there eventually. FMS also is looking at expansion somewhere on the East Coast by early next year.
