The city has contracted with a new collection agency to go after millions of dollars in unpaid Topeka Municipal Court fees and fines.

City spokeswoman Ruth Maus said the city subsequently contracted with Gig Harbor, Wash.-based Alliance One for August 2005 through August 2006, with the court getting 76 percent of what is collected and 24 percent going to Alliance One. The contract has options for two one-year renewals, Maus said.
