Southern California Collection Agency Giving Back to those Helping with Fire

The employees of Universal Business Systems in Simi Valley, CA count themselves as lucky today; their business was spared. The collection agency was closed Monday and Tuesday of this week as firefighters struggled to keep the infernos ravaging Southern California at bay. The fires came within a quarter of a mile of UBS?s office, but the tireless efforts of firefighters held off the blaze. Now the company wants to get the word out about the work of these individuals and hopes that others will follow their lead.

?We have witnessed the work of the firefighters and their efforts, and having the fire as close as it was, we want to give back to our community. They saved our company!? remarked Matthew Medlin, President of Sales and Marketing at UBS. And the company is putting its money where its mouth is. They decided to donate to the American Red Cross to help the effort. ?The collection business is extremely hard, and can be very negative, but when I cut our check today, not only did I feel good, but I really have a better outlook on life and business and the goodwill of people,? said Medlin.

UBS also wants others to help. Below is a letter from Matthew Medlin to the collection industry asking for any help you might be able to give. Please take a minute to read it.

Dear Friends,

As all of you are probably aware by now, Southern California has been (and continues to be) devastated by the worst brush fires in more than a decade. One of the more disturbing factors of this natural event is that most of these fires appear to be the result of arson.

With the Simi Valley fire burning to literally within a couple blocks of our corporate office, Universal Business Systems, LLC has felt the impact of this tragedy. However difficult this time has been for our business, valued staff, family and friends; our losses pale in comparison to many of our neighbors, locally and abroad in other areas of Southern California.

As a local business in the Ventura County community, Universal Business Systems, LLC is making a donation to the American Red Cross to help those people and businesses that have lost so much to help rebuild their lives. WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP!
