Equifax Inc. named General Electric Co. executive Richard F. Smith chairman and chief executive, succeeding Thomas F. Chapman, who will retire at the end of the year.


The consumer credit ratings company said in a press release Wednesday that 45-year-old Smith served most recently as chief operating officer of GE Insurance Solutions.
