The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) yesterday held a half-day seminar entitled, ?How to Prepare a Quality Offer,? for companies interested in Federal contracting opportunities under the Financial & Business Solutions program, Schedule 520. The seminar was held in Arlington, Virginia.

Schedule 520-4, Debt Collection, is the schedule under which the U.S. Department of Education and Department of Treasury procure collection services. The seminar provided an overview of Schedule 520-4 and other schedules related to financial and business services outsourced by the Federal government, and included content covering basic proposal requirements, pricing, contract data, and contract administration. The goal was to educate interested parties on what it takes to qualify to do business with the Federal government through programs administered by GSA.

Nick Bernardo, principal of Net Gain Marketing and consultant to collection agencies that want to pursue Federal bidding opportunities, noted, ?The event was a great opportunity for agencies to learn more about the process. With the IRS opportunity materializing, I expect many agencies to attempt to win a contract with GSA in order to be considered for a piece of the income tax business.?
