AmeriCredit Corp. today announced selection of its primary philanthropic initiatives, or "Signature Events," for 2007, which will benefit the March of Dimes, Salvation Army and United Way. AmeriCredit has proudly supported both the March of Dimes and United Way for more than 10 consecutive years and Salvation Army for the last six years in a row. AmeriCredit’s Canadian team members will support the United Way and Salvation Army, along with a new organization receiving the company’s support this year, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. These philanthropic initiatives were chosen based on employee interest, breadth of communities and people served, and availability of volunteer opportunities for AmeriCredit team members.

"AmeriCredit believes in building relationships, not just with auto dealers and customers, but with our communities as well," said AmeriCredit President and CEO Dan Berce. "Our employees are generous with their time and resources, and they value these organizations that create solutions for so many people in need."

To encourage employee participation in charitable organizations, AmeriCredit offers team members eight hours of paid time off to volunteer each quarter. The company also contributes to the nonprofit agencies for which its employees volunteer. As part of its "Dollars for Doers" program, AmeriCredit donates $5 for every hour, up to 50 hours per year, that team members spend volunteering outside of work hours.

In 2006, AmeriCredit and its employees supported more than 100 local and national charities through contributions of time and money.
