It had to happen sooner or later.  The House Financial Services Committee announced Friday that they would be holding hearings in mid-April to address the precipitous rise in home loan foreclosures.

On April 17, the committee will invite members of the lending community, government agencies, and consumer advocacy groups to testify on their plans to stem the tide of mortgage defaults focused on the subprime category.
