Microsoft is changing the face of development with its .NET development platform. With this new technology, set for release in February, Microsoft is embracing the basic design of eCollections*, a debt collection management system that has been available to the collection industry for over a year. eCollections*, like .NET applications, uses a browser-less design to manage information from a central location via HTTP. Like software built with .NET, eCollections has the capability to automatically download, install, and upgrade dynamically-and has all of the advantages and power of a standalone, custom-built Windows application.

Tim Cain, Executive Vice President at Sentinel Development Solutions, has believed in this strategy for over 3 years. “We were quite a bit ahead of the curve”, says Cain. “Because we foresaw these developments, we’re able to offer collection businesses a leading-edge solution that is very flexible and powerful.”

Sentinel Development Solutions sells two versions of their collection system, eCollections* and eCollectionsASP*. eCollections* is the stand-alone, client/server version that can be easily set up to manage distributed businesses like branch offices, international operations, or home-based collection workers. eCollectionsASP* is a hosted application service leased for a monthly fee and accessed via the Internet.
