Brian Block, an associate with Javitch, Block & Rathbone (JB&R), has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA).   He was elected November 2, at the fall conference in Atlanta.

NARCA is a nationwide trade association of more than 700 skilled debt collection law firms, in-house counsel of creditors, and industry vendors.

Block’s area of specialization at JB&R is retail collections.  He has been with the firm since graduating from Cleveland Marshall School of Law in 2003.  He passed the Ohio Bar that same year. Block has an undergraduate degree from Indiana University with a double major in English and speech communications.

Block is a member of the Cleveland and American Bar Associations and is a volunteer for Junior Achievement Cleveland, a volunteer organization that educates young people about business, economics and personal finances and builds partnerships between the business and education communities in more than 200 schools and organizations throughout Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties.

Cleveland-based JB&R’s practices focus on the areas of retail and commercial collections, creditor bankruptcy representation, commercial and creditor litigation, landlord representation, and insurance subrogation.  They are one of the largest creditor rights firms in the country, handling matters throughout the states of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
