H&R Block Inc. is suing a St. Louis area debt collector that allegedly misappropriated information from Block’s computers about clients to get part of their tax refunds.

Block filed suit Friday in U.S. District Court in Kansas City against J&M Securities LLC and its agent, Jay R. Burns Jr., both of Clayton, Mo.
