Reading, Pa.-based Kadent Corporation, a provider of healthcare and other accounts receivable management services, announced the appointment of Joseph Knudson to the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Mr. Knudson will manage Kadent’s information technology organization, Kadent Technologies, which provides IT-related services to Kadent’s clients, manages critical technology systems supporting the company’s operational efforts, and supports Kadent’s enterprise systems and applications for all corporate processes. Mr. Knudson will report to Bruce Colburn, Kadent’s President and CEO. Mark Shober has assumed the role of Kadent’s Chief Technology Officer reporting to Mr. Knudson.

A respected industry veteran, Mr. Knudson brings more than 25 years of experience to Kadent, previously holding senior IT leadership positions with companies ranging in size from start-up enterprises to the Fortune 100, including UnitedHealth Group, The Image Bank, U.S. Pharmacopeia and InfoPro Technologies. He has directed all aspects of the IT function, including strategic planning, policy/governance/standards development, central shared services, Information Technology Infrastructure Library, performance monitoring, change management, services delivery, outsourcing partner relationships, voice/data communications, finance and procurement, business re-engineering and IT transformation.

“Kadent Technologies plays a critical role in the success of our business, especially how we interface with our clients in the marketplace,” Mr. Colburn said. “We will leverage Joe’s substantial experience leading other organizations’ IT functions to continue our focus on operational excellence and client service while Kadent increases its scale and geographic breadth. This appointment also allows our existing technology function, directed by Mr. Shober, to narrow its focus on the technology needs of Kadent’s clients.”

Mr. Knudson holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
