CareTech Solutions, an information technology (IT) and health information management (HIM) services provider for hospitals and healthcare systems, announced today that it had garnered high scores in the KLAS 2006 Extensive IT Outsourcing Report. The announcement was made in conjunction with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2007 Annual Conference and Exhibition.

CareTech’s overall score was 90.3 on a 100-point scale. The company earned 100% in each of the business indicator categories of Would You Buy it Again, Avoids Nickel-and-Diming, Keeps all Promises and Would You Recommend to a Friend/Peer. In the Performance indicator section, which included evaluation of metrics such as Lived Up to Expectations, Services Delivered as Promised and Executives Interested in You, CareTech scored high, averaging an 8.2 on a nine point scale, with nine being considered strong or excellent performance.

"While direct comparisons to vendors included in the main body of the report would not meet KLAS criteria, we are very pleased to have garnered some of the report’s highest overall marks," said James Giordano, president and CEO of CareTech Solutions. "We view the outcomes as being validation of the success of our focus on providing hospitals with the comprehensive IT services that directly respond to our client’s requests. Our solutions consistently result in helping our client hospitals improve care, reduce costs and achieve a competitive advantage."

CareTech’s performance can be reviewed in the early data segment of the report. Equity partnerships with some of its larger clients prevented CareTech from qualifying for the Main Body of the report, which required a minimum level of participation from non-equity clients to meet KLAS’s threshold for statistical confidence. Survey participants providing detail on CareTech had no equity ownership in that organization. Yet for all vendors in all categories, CareTech was one of only three firms whose overall score increased from 2005 to 2006.
