Visa USA, one of the nation’s most well known credit card brands, on Thursday reported the amount of purchases made through its credit and debit cards during the second quarter rose 17.5 percent to $302.2 billion.


The San Francisco-based company said sales during the most recent quarter boosted overall volume for the past four quarters to $1.13 trillion, up 18.2 percent from the year-ago period.
