Community banks on Friday asked a U.S. House panel to request a study from congressional investigators on insufficient staffing and examination delays at the regulatory agency that supervises credit unions.


Two groups — America’s Community Bankers and Independent Community Bankers of America — told House Financial Services Committee Chairman Michael Oxley that staffing problems at the National Credit Union Administration could lead to a “crisis” in the industry.
