Dutch bank ABN AMRO has won a mere 0.2 percent of its takeover target Banca Antonveneta two days from the expiry of its 7.6 billion euro ($9.06 billion) cash bid on July 6, data showed on Monday.


Data from the Milan bourse showed that only 545,347 Antonveneta shares had been signed up to the ABN’s bid. ABN said in a statement it had bought a further 0.35 percent in a block trade on Monday, raising its Antonveneta stake to 25 percent.
