Western Union and Arizona Attorney General Postpone Hearing

Western Union and the Arizona Attorney General’s Office have agreed to postpone the hearing scheduled for October 30 in Maricopa County Superior Court, until late November. The purpose of the hearing is to address Western Union’s objections to a recent seizure warrant obtained by the Attorney General’s Office targeting money transfers sent from 28 states to various locations in Sonora, Mexico.

The parties agreed to postpone the hearing to allow them to continue discussions aimed at resolving their differences in a way that meets the State’s law enforcement needs and protects Western Union’s customers and business. The parties have agreed that the stay order issued by the Court in late September will remain in effect during these discussions, which means that no money transfers are currently being seized.
