The Commercial Law League of America will award Nancy B. Hamilton with the Robert E. Caine Leadership Award during a special brunch at its Annual New York Fall Meeting on November 15, 2009.

Hamilton is with the Cleveland-based American Lawyers Company, publishers of the American Lawyers Quarterly, a respected directory of collection and bankruptcy law firms throughout the U.S. and around the world and has been in continuous publication since 1899. Hamilton has been a CLLA member since 1979. She currently serves as recording secretary of the Midwest District, treasurer of the Association of Law List Publishers and vice chair of the CLLA Board of Associate Editors for the DePaul Business & Commercial Law Journal and Debt3 magazine. She is also a frequent contributor to Debt3.

Hamilton also is a member of the CLLA National Membership Committee and National Meetings Committee and is an advisor to the Patron Fund Board. She has served as arrangements chair for several international CLLA conferences and enlisted speakers and discussion leaders for educational programs that have been presented at CLLA’s New York and Chicago meetings.

The Robert E. Caine award is given to members who encourage leadership among other CLLA members; mentor others both within the CLLA and their world of business; and foster goodwill, fraternity and confidence within the CLLA.

Hamilton says her work with the CLLA is closely connected with her career.

“Mentoring attorneys and agency members is an important part of what any responsible law list representative does,” she says. “All of us at American Lawyers Quarterly work actively, day in and day out, to help them be successful in the industry, as well as assisting them in building relationships with one another.”

The CLLA’s 89th Annual New York Fall Meeting, which includes education, networking and other events, will be held at the New York Sheraton Hotel & Towers from Nov. 12 to Nov. 15, 2009.
