Executive Bio: Earl C. Shanks

Earl Shanks is chief financial officer of Convergys Corporation, a global leader in relationship management.

Earl is responsible for managing the financial risks of the company, with oversight for corporate strategic development, financial planning and reporting, marketing, and investor relations. He reports to Dave Dougherty, president and chief executive officer of Convergys.

Prior to joining Convergys, Shanks served in several senior executive positions with NCR Corporation, including senior vice president and chief financial officer, vice president of corporate finance, vice president and corporate controller, treasurer, and head of mergers and acquisitions.

Previously, Shanks held a series of increasingly responsible positions with Fruit of the Loom, Farley Industries Inc. and Peat Marwick International.

Earl earned both his bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior and his master’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois.
