CLEVELAND, OH – James Y. Oh, an associate with the creditor?s law firm of Javitch, Block & Rathbone (JB&R), has been named One of Ohio?s Rising Star Super Lawyers of 2005 by Law & Politics magazine.


Rising Stars are young, outstanding, emerging attorneys in Ohio who represent a wide range of practice areas, firm sizes and geographic locations. They are 40 years-old or younger and have been in practice 10 or fewer years. Rising Stars are selected from a list of nominations by lawyers throughout Ohio who are then evaluated by an attorney-led research team. The evaluation process includes: demonstrated superior professional potential; peer recognition; professional achievement; civic service and pro bono activities. After being divided into categories of firm size and geographic location, the top candidates from each group are named Rising Stars.


Oh is 37 years old, works at JB&R’s Cleveland office, and has been in practice for six years. He earned his undergraduate degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Cleveland Marshall School of Law in 1998. He was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1999 and joined JB&R in 2001. His practice includes all facets of business transactions, disputes, negotiations and litigation, including appellate work.


Javitch, Block & Rathbone’s practice is concentrated in the areas of collections, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, landlord/tenant law, insurance subrogation, and business transactions.
