The city of Brookhaven, Miss. has hired S.C. Services and Associates to begin collecting overdue fines and other debts owed the city, so says the Associated Press.
The move was approved on a 6-1 vote among the town’s aldermen. The same collection agency is used by neighboring municipalities to collect various government debts.
S.C. Services will be allowed to charge up to 25 percent to the debtors for their fee, resulting in no cost to Brookhaven.
