Penncro Associates, Inc. today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to open a near-shore call center in the Dominican Republic during the third quarter of 2007.  Penncro is a full service accounts receivable management firm based in Southampton, PA.

The call center is located on the outskirts of capital city Santo Domingo in the Caribbean island nation’s new “Cyberpark of Santo Domingo.”  The Cyberpark focuses on serving the needs of businesses of a highly technical nature, including call centers, information services, software development, and computer design, as well as technology manufacturing.  Located less than five minutes from the International Airport of Las Americas, the main airport in the country, the new call center will provide Penncro and its clients with 30% additional capacity immediately, or roughly 200 seats.

With potential offshore and near shore locales multiplying every year, Penncro’s executive management team conducted in-depth research and analysis of its clients’ needs and possible locations and, after compiling and discussing its findings, chose the Dominican Republic.  This decision was made due to the country’s proximity to the continental United Sates, which is a short flight from Miami, and the relative security of the Dominican Republic compared to less geopolitically secure call center incubators like South Asia, the Philippines, and other parts of Latin America.

Penncro’s executive management team worked closely with the government of the Dominican Republic to make the deal happen, delivering to its clients much needed flexibility and cost savings as a result.

Paul Crowley, Penncro’s co-owner, commented, “We are excited about the opportunity to do business in the Dominican Republic because it gives Penncro the flexibility and logistics to run a successful near-shore operation.  I would like to thank the government of the Dominican Republic, especially Secretary of State Eddy Martinez, for its assistance and cooperation in completing this deal.”
