California’s attorney general warned CardSystems Solutions Inc. on Tuesday he is running out of patience waiting for a response to his request for information related to the security breach of one of its databases for transactions for MasterCard International.

Separately, California lawmakers rejected a bill that would have required companies to notify consumers of all security breaches involving their personal information.

Credit card issuer MasterCard said on June 17 the breach had exposed about 40 million payment cards of various brands to potential fraud in the biggest such violation ever reported.
