This July, Shermeta, Adams & Von Allmen, P.C. reached a landmark anniversary, celebrating 40 years in business.

Beginning in 1973, founder Douglass Shermeta concentrated in the area of creditor’s rights, including collections and bankruptcy. His efforts in representing commercial and consumer creditors built the trust that retains many of the firm’s early clients today.

The firm now specializes in the practice areas of Bankruptcy Law, Commercial Creditor’s Rights, Consumer Creditor’s Rights, Real Property, Remedies for Creditors, Litigation in the Prosecution of Creditor’s Rights, Litigation in the Defense of Creditor’s Rights, Collection Industry Defense, and National Bankruptcy Servicing. They provide quality service to clients not only within the States of Michigan and Ohio, but on a national basis as well.

“This is a great time for SA&V and our team. We are extremely excited to meet this milestone month and more so, to build upon this legacy,” said President Kyle J. Von Allmen. “We are embarking upon a time when collecting with dignity is valued in the marketplace like no other.  It has always been, and will continue to be, the driving force behind the philosophy of this firm. We view the law with respect, believing it should always be stable but never stagnant. Our vision comes from commitment to our Clients. It starts with service, continues with confidence, and strengthens through trust. Our philosophy rests not only in the heads but also in the hearts of our employees. They take this commitment beyond diligence to dedication, and beyond competence to courage.”
