Tenet Healthcare Corporation announced that Jennifer Daley, M.D., the company’s chief medical officer, was recognized as a top leader among female executives in the health care industry, as selected by industry trade publication Modern Healthcare magazine.

The “Top 25 Women in Healthcare” award honors executives who are making a positive difference in the industry. Winners are selected based on five criteria:

  2. Shown the ability or power to effect change in the health care industry;
  3. Demonstrated a willingness to share expertise with others in the field;
  4. Served as a role model or mentor to other female health care executives;
  5. Assumed a leadership position in the industry outside of the candidates’ own organization or company.

“Dr. Daley is driven by a deep desire to create a legacy that ensures that patients and their families can be confident that they will receive high quality and compassionate care in hospitals and physicians’ offices across the country,” said Trevor Fetter, Tenet’s president and chief executive officer. “She is truly a leader in the health care industry and I am proud to have her at the helm of Tenet’s clinical quality initiatives.”

Dr. Daley, 57, joined Tenet in 2002 and through her strong leadership, the company has made significant, measurable and sustainable progress in its mission to provide the best quality of care possible in all its hospitals. Among other notable achievements, it was through her leadership that Tenet outperforms its peers in core clinical measures of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ “Hospital Compare” national quality comparison web site index.

Dr. Daley manages a team of 140 employees at Tenet, and has overall responsibility for the company’s clinical quality efforts. She was the key architect of Tenet’s innovative Commitment to Quality program, which promotes the best evidence-based care for patients, and is the company’s primary tool for driving change and advances in quality.

Dr. Daley is dedicated to sharing her vast knowledge and experience. She has authored more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and clinical communications, and also serves as an adjunct associate professor of community and family medicine at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire.
