CHICAGO, Ill. -- Commercial Collection Agencies of America recently announced that through its initiative, Commercial Collection Agencies of America Gives Back, a portion of the proceeds of its recently held semi-annual meeting in New Orleans has been given to the American Diabetes Association.

At the Association’s general membership meeting, Fred Wasserspring, Treasurer suggested the ADA for the recipient of the donation in honor of the past Executive Director, Mr. Emil Hartleb, who passed away in February. The membership supported the suggestion by passing a unanimous vote with overwhelming support to make the charitable contribution.

“Emil was a respected colleague, a good friend and an esteemed mentor to many of us. His life-long dedication to the credit and collection industries was admirable,” stated Bruce Godwin, President of Commercial Collection Agencies of America.

Commercial Collection Agencies of America has also been fortunate enough to donate a portion of the profits from previous meetings to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Blessings in a Backpack, The ALS Association-Greater Chicago Chapter, The Red Cross and The Emily Stillman Foundation. “We are grateful for the opportunity to benefit these worthy organizations over the years, not only by the donations made through Commercial Collection Agencies of America Gives Back, but also by members’ individual support,” commented Annette M. Waggoner, Executive Director of Commercial Collection Agencies of America.
