eClinicalWorks™, a market leader in unified EMR/PM systems, and the Utah Medical Association (UMA) today announced an agreement to help physicians implement electronic medical records (EMR) in their practices. This is UMAs first formal relationship with an EMR vendor.

As part of the agreement, UMA member physicians can streamline their front to back-office operations through eClinicalWorks’ unified EMR and practice management (PM) solution, and can choose between the application service provider (ASP) or the client/server model. Access to the eClinicalWorks’ Web-based Patient Portal will also be offered.

“The Utah Medical Association is committed to offering our members access to the best tools to help them care for their patients,” said Dr. C. Kerry Stratford, president of Utah Medical Association. “Electronic medical records can benefit all of our members, whether they care for patients in large or small practices. Having used eClinicalWorks in my own practice, I know that many of our members will benefit from this comprehensive EMR and practice management solution.”

By working with eClinicalWorks, UMA members will be able to streamline internal processes, including scheduling appointments, creating electronic medical records, and billing. This allows healthcare providers to spend more time with patients and less on administrative duties, in addition to increasing the quality of patient data. The accompanying Patient Portal feature allows patients and physicians to communicate easily, safely, and securely over the Internet for routine information such as appointments, lab results, and statements.

“We are devoted to delivering an EMR and PM solution that is versatile enough to meet the individual needs of physician practices of any size,” said Girish Kumar Navani, president of eClinicalWorks. “The Utah Medical Association’s commitment to this technology is a testament to the value of implementing electronic medical record systems, especially as pay-for-performance measures become more commonplace. We look forward to working with UMA to equip its members with technology that will advance the quality of care delivered to their patients.”

eClinicalWorks’ award-winning EMR solution provides the ability to manage patient flow, access patient records in-house or remotely, communicate electronically with referring physicians, and send secure consult notes and clinical data. Users can easily access and review complete patient histories, including past visits, current medications, allergies, labs and charts. Integrated with the EMR is eClinicalWorks Practice Management system, designed to streamline the medical billing process.
