PARIS — Capgemini America Inc., a subsidiary of the Capgemini Group, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, and IBX Group AB, the leading provider of efficient e-purchasing1 solutions, today announced that they will work together to develop a new, industry-first, end-to-end global procurement solution – deployed on Capgemini’s BPOpen™ 2 technology platform – which is expected to significantly lower the cost of procurement for clients, accelerate the return on sourcing cost savings, and enhance visibility and control of their procurement process.

This new solution jointly developed by Capgemini and IBX is expected to enable clients to incur one-tenth the implementation costs over traditional implementation approaches in their sourcing3 efforts. The solution will leveraging the combined strengths of the two companies, including industry leading technology and processes, strong competence in both purchasing process and purchasing technology, and global delivery centers – part of Capgemini’s Rightshore® delivery network – that provide cost-effective transaction processing.

“Working with the IBX Group, we’ve been able to develop this new solution that further enhances Capgemini’s standardized global procurement processes and generates accelerated sourcing savings by leveraging Capgemini’s global insight and capabilities and IBX’s Procurement on-demand solutions,” said David Poole, Head of Business Process Outsourcing, for Capgemini in the Americas and Innovation lead for Global BPO. “We’re utilizing Capgemini’s industrialized Global Process Model© (GPM), in conjunction with the IBX on-demand solutions so that our clients have access to industry-leading technologies and standardized practices.”

All sets of tools within the BPOpen™ technology platform are quickly and readily deployable without the need to build a new system for each customer. This development is aimed at enabling clients to address all key supply chain challenges – ranging from spend visibility, to leveraged global sourcing, to process efficiency and control – resulting in the generation of sustainable value.

Key elements of the end-to-end procurement solution are:

  •  Market leading software as a service offering
  • Open architecture to integrate other solutions
  • Enriched category insight and capabilities
  • Pre-populated content for defined categories, established processes and tools for customized content and maintenance
  • Established global supplier network with more than 20,000 suppliers

“IBX and Capgemini have a solid relationship and a proven track record, and our best-of-breed procurement offering complements Capgemini’s leading BPO offering enabling clients to reach their return on investment faster,” said Leif Bohlin, chief executive officer of IBX Group AB. “This development brings the best of two worlds together – IBX has a deep and thorough knowledge of software-as-a-service delivery of source-to-pay4 technology, while Capgemini has excellent experience in managing full process outsourcing of the purchasing function.”
