Net Gain Marketing today released data from the firm’s GovWatch operations indicating that requests for proposal (RFPs) from public sector entities seeking to outsource collection operations yielded approximately $900,000,000 in portfolios available for bidding and eventual servicing during the fourth quarter of 2006.

Of this number, approximately $164,000,000 represented portfolios from entities that had never before outsourced receivables management.

Entities releasing RFPs during the fourth quarter included well-established receivables management outsourcers such as the Comptroller of the State of Maryland, the Montana State Fund, and Harris County (TX) Hospital District.

New receivables management outsourcing RFPs released for bidding during this quarter included those issued by the New York State Thruway Authority, the City of San Antonio Finance Department, the City of New Orleans Public Schools, and, in Canada, the Nova Scotia District Health Authorities of Western Nova Scotia.
