In a new weekly segment, insideARM.com will be pointing out the various fails of consumers, and those that represent them, in their ongoing War on Collectors: Battlefront Internet. And occasionally, we’ll point out where our ARM brothers and sisters could have been more… um… “elegant in their approach.”

Our first entry is innocuous enough…just a lawyer and a camera and the typical “are debt collectors harassing you? Yes? Then let us sue them,” language. Here, look:

Boring, right? I mean, the fact that he’s not exactly a natural in front of a camera and calls the FDCPA “too good to be true,” is pretty hilarious. But just a cursory look into the background of the law firm reveals a bit more.

For starters, the firm’s main raison d’être is to sue car dealers under Lemon Laws. Yeah, it’s a Lemon Law Firm. And judging by their Web presence — and the fact that the attorney in the video references this magical, mystical thing called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act — it seems they just discovered the lucrative world of suing debt collectors.

So what do you have to lose (remember, “it won’t cost you one penny out of pocket,”)? Oh, and they totally won’t share your sensitive financial information with anyone…without prior approval. Awesome.
