Cabot Financial Group was selected as the official call centre for BBC Southern Counties Radio in this year’s Children in Need appeal. Staff volunteers took donations from around 5000 people from Friday 14th November until the early hours of Saturday morning.

More than £170,000 ($255,000) was raised in donations to the call centre at Kings Hill, West Malling. Over 180 Cabot Financial staff, including Executives and Directors, were involved, taking an average of 3.75 calls per second during peak times.

In addition to being BBC Southern Counties Radio official call centre for Children in Need, Cabot Financial staff organised and took part in a whole host of fund raising activities in the run up to the main event; these included ‘dress down Friday’s’, a mile of pennies around the building and cake sales. One brave male employee had his legs waxed for charity, another had his head shaved, while the Executive Directors donned their aprons and served staff lunches and refreshments in the canteen.

Ken Maynard, Group Chief Executive of Cabot Financial Group, commented, “The night’s success could not have been achieved without our staff giving up their own valuable time to raise money for such a worthy cause. Everybody gave their all to make the night as much fun as possible, and this helped to create an amazing atmosphere in our call centre.

“I’m extremely proud of the Cabot staff’s generosity leading up to the event, raising £4,000 for Children in Need from their own pockets. It took a lot of hard work and organisation which has certainly paid off.”
