San Diego:  The Sagres Company announced today that they have formed Sagres Capital Management to oversee the outside investor activities for their distressed consumer debt investments. The Company has a 17 year track record of investment in the distressed debt sector including the management, and successful exit, of its two previous closed end funds Recovery Asset Group I & II. The Sagres Company has traditionally managed accounts for individual and institutional investors in tandem with their debt collection and management efforts and has decided to segregate the two sides of the business in order to grow assets under management.

Sagres Capital Management is being registered as an Investment Advisor and will oversee the Company’s existing principal investments and separate accounts as well as act as the General Partner for the Company’s first pooled investment fund since 1999, Recovery Capital Partners. “Now is the most opportune time I have seen in many years to buy distressed assets due to reduced competition and pricing.” According to Tom Ferris, The Sagres Company’s CEO, “Therefore we’re returning to our roots in the fund business where we started.”

The Sagres Company is an experienced investor, manager and collector of distressed debt.  Sagres buys and sells portfolios of charged-off receivables, on behalf of itself and its investors, serving lending institutions and other credit grantors.  For more information about The Sagres Company, please visit www.sagresco.com.
