Economic development recruiters in Missouri are pulling out all the stops in the hopes of convincing National Asset Recovery Service, Inc., a call center outsourcing firm, to bring their business and 350 jobs to the area.

“I don’t ever recall having that much riding on a job fair as what will be riding on this particular job fair,” Mayor Jay Knudtson told the Southeast Missourian News.

NARS executives aren?t entirely convinced that the Cape Girardeau area of Missouri has a strong enough labor pool to fill the 350 open spots. The call center would potentially handle debt collection calls.

“I absolutely understand their concerns,” Knudtson said. “The last thing they want to do is invest in setting up here and not having the staff to man it. But I believe this community can support that.”
