Genpact (NYSE: G), which manages business processes for companies around the world, announced that Executive Vice President VN “Tiger” Tyagarajan was named Thought Leader of the Year by FAO Today magazine. This is the second consecutive year that Tyagarajan has been recognized by the publication for his outstanding contributions to Genpact and to the global finance and accounting outsourcing industry.

The FAO Today award recipients are selected from the magazine’s annual FAO Superstars listing and, beginning this year, recognize the top FAO industry leader in each of seven categories for their exceptional accomplishments. The award recipients are chosen through a collaborative process that included the FAO Today editorial team and a group of outside consultants. The 2008 award categories include Practitioner of the Year, North America; Advisors of the Year; Influencer of the Year; Provider of the Year for — Large Enterprise, Middle Market and Selective Process; and Thought Leader of the Year.

According to Elliot Clark, CEO of FAO Today Magazine, “Genpact has led the industry, growing in a short time from a newly spun out captive center to a global leader that now competes for the world’s largest BPO programs. This can be attributed to the vision and leadership and thought leadership of its executives. As our awards committee reviewed available data we recognized that while Genpact has many extraordinary leaders, we felt that Tiger Tyagarajan showed great thought leadership in both the design and the vision of Genpact’s solutions to meet the changing needs of its growing list of Global 2000 customers.”
