The Philippines would like for you to start thinking of them, if not first, then in the same breath as, India when you consider the Business Outsource Processing market.

Reuters is carrying a fairly in-depth article detailing the rise of the Philippines, and why the island nation in the Malay Archipelago is such an up-and-comer.

According to the article, the Philippines earned $3.6 billion from outsourcing in 2006, up 50 percent from the previous year, and the government estimates revenue could jump to $12.2 billion by 2010 as the industry diversifies.  Contrast that with India, the leader in the global outsourcing market, which earned $6.2 billion in the 12 months to March 2006, and is likely to jump to $8 billion in the year to March 2007.
