Muncie, Indiana’s Redevelopment Commission approved a plan on Friday that would expand a current tax-incentive program to include a shell building that will be built out to house a new Salle Mae collection call center, according to the Muncie Star Press. The center is expected to employ 700 people.

Redevelopment Commission member Ken Hughes commented on the deal, “We are not giving up tax revenue. We are redirecting it to get 700 new jobs.”

According to the paper, Sallie Mae intends to begin construction in April.
